Ukrainian Pysanky (Easter Egg) Workshop
April 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$15.00
COMPLETE REGISTRATION LINK BEFORE PAYING!
During this workshop you will learn to make Ukrainian Pysanky. Pysanky (Pih-san-kih) are a Ukrainian Easter Egg tradition passed down through generations. The word Pysanka in Ukrainian is derived from “pysaty”, which means “to write”. A batik wax-resist method is used to draw an intricate design of your choice on the egg. These designs are “written” with beeswax by heating the stylus, called kistka, in a candle flame until the wax melts, and then a design is drawn on the egg. The dye application is done by submerging the egg from the lightest to the darkest colors. A new layer of wax can be applied between each color application to preserve the latest color. The wax is then melted off to reveal a unique design!
This a great activity to get together with your family, spend time with your kids, or have a date night with your loved one. All materials will be provided during the workshop.
Cost – $15. Registration is required.
